Colts cheerleaders go bald for a good cause

NEED TO KNOW
  • Two NFL cheerleaders lose their locks for charity
  • Team mascot raised over $22,000
Megan and Crystal Ann, two cheerleaders for the Indianapolis Colts, had their heads shaved during Sunday's game.

When Morning Express sports anchor Carlos Diaz talked to her last week, Indianapolis Colts cheerleader Megan was all smiles at the prospect of having her head shaved as part of the Colts' Chuckstrong fundraising campaign -- but that was before we knew for sure if she'd have to actually do it!

When team mascot Blue tweeted a challenge to the cheerleaders to see if they'd follow suit with some of the players who'd shaved their heads in support of Coach Chuck Pagano, who is undergoing treatment for leukemia, Megan was quick to tweet that she would! The catch: Blue would have to raise $10,000 for charity.

On Sunday, we learned that not only did Colts fans come up with the 10 grand -- they more than doubled it! In turn, the Colts cheerleaders doubled their end of the bargain as well. At the end of the third quarter, Megan was joined by fellow cheerleader Crystal Ann on the field where Blue shaved both of their heads, with coach Pagano looking on from the owner's box.
