Boy band One Direction, Hillary Clinton, Ben Affleck on list
Top spot will be revealed December 12

One Direction is on the list of Barbara Walters' "Most Fascinating People" of 2012.

Barbara Walters took a few minutes during "The View" Monday to announce her list of the “Most Fascinating People” of 2012.

British boy band "One Direction" made the cut. After basically dominating Twitter and making pre-teen girls go into a frenzy everywhere they go, these guys certainly qualify.

Also deemed '"fascinating" this year: Olympic gold medal winning gymnast Gabby Douglas, Seth MacFarlane ("Family Guy," "Ted"), and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

E.L. James, author of the sexy best-seller "50 Shades of Grey," will be featured in the special as well, along with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Ben Affleck (Argo).

But Barbara, who is the MOST fascinating of the "Most Fascinating"? We'll have to wait a few weeks. The No. 1 spot won't be revealed until the show airs December 12 on ABC.
