FBI agents arrested a New Hampshire attorney Friday on child exploitation charges.
Lisa Biron is accused of taking a teenage girl to Canada, where she allegedly engaged in sexual activity and persuaded the girl to let Biron film it, reports the Concord Monitor.
Biron, who has served on the board of directors at Mount Zion Christian Schools in Manchester, was apprehended in a courtroom while she was awaiting a separate hearing on seven counts of child pornography that were filed October 9. FBI agents came into the courtroom, took her in another room and handcuffed her. The federal charges against her were formally read to her later at the U.S. District Court.
Biron is charged with transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possession of child pornography and five counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The judge decided to detain Biron because she broke bail conditions imposed from the previous pornography charges. The prosecutor in the case, Helen Fitzgibbon, also said Biron possessed drugs, threatened the person who turned her into the police and asked people in law enforcement to lie on her behalf.
Biron's trial on the federal charges is scheduled for January. She faces 10 years to life in prison if she’s convicted on the transportation charge and 15 years to life in prison on each charge of exploiting the child.
