Hostess and its bakers union agreed Monday to mediation to try to resolve their labor woes.

On Friday, Hostess said it would liquidate and sell off its brands after its bakers went on strike and both sides couldn’t negotiate a deal.
Hostess officials have said the company is bankrupt and the bakers union didn’t want to agree to cuts in pay and benefits.

A bankruptcy judge told both sides that he wanted them to try one last time to reach an agreement.
