Chick Fight! Packers vs. Lions

It's a chick fight. Packers fan vs. Lions fan

Chicksinthehuddle.com is a website created by and dedicated to female football fans. Beyond game day coverage, the site also features player interviews, an ongoing series called “The NFL Wives Club” and it was recently featured in the NFL’s “Fit For you” Campaign.

Midwesterners are generally known for their hospitality and "Aw Shucks-itude."  But nothing turns up the heat in the Heartland faster than football. Mention Calvin Johnson in Green Bay...and you might take a Cheesehead to the eyeball.  Get caught wearing an Aaron Rodgers jersey in Detroit...prepare for the cab driver to "accidentally" drop you off in Eminem's old neighborhood.

In this week's Chick Fight, we'll shine a spotlight on these two NFC North foes as they prepare to face off in Motown. Don't worry, there's no hair pulling.  (But that's probably because we didn't dare put them in the same room.)

Team Packers: Emily Sefton (Minneapolis, Minnesota)

Years as a Fan: Since birth.

Craziest thing she's done to support the team: Spent 24 hours trying to get to Texas for the Super Bowl because all the airports were closed! Flew from Minneapolis to Cincinnati, Ohio, back to Minneapolis, to Austin, Texas, and then drove from Austin to Dallas. But we won so it was worth it.

Weird superstitions: I have to watch the game alone (I can't deal with people talking over the announcers... focus!) and wear the same shirt and hoodie that I wore to the Super Bowl (I wash it each week, though. I'm not that extreme).

Why she loves the Packers team so much: Being a Green Bay Packers fan is so much more than just supporting a team. It's a part of a Wisconsinite's life; everyone from Green Bay lives and breathes the Packers. It's in our blood.

Team she hates the most? Da Bears.

Game day rituals: When I go to the game, we park in the same spot for every game. Have been for 20 years. It's to the point now where the man's yard that we park in gets us a Christmas present and vice versa. That's Green Bay for you.

Score prediction: 28-14 Packers

(Editor's Note: Yes, we Photoshopped that cheese hat onto our dear Emily.)

Team Lions: Driadonna Roland (Los Angeles, California)

Years as a Fan: Surprisingly, the team's worst season is when I became a fan. I like to root for the underdog.

Craziest thing she's done to support the team: I worked for 'em! My first gig after college was an internship with the Lions, which showed me some of the inner workings of the NFL. It also included working seven days a week during training camp.

Weirdest superstitions? I check Twitter incessantly during the game to see what people are saying about my boys.

Why She Loves the Lions: The Lions represent the Motor City attitude. They don't play pretty, but they play hard and they showed us last season that you can't bet against The D!

Team she hates the most? The Vikings. I love the color purple, but they talk a lot of smack, especially Jared Allen.

Game day rituals? I go to church in the morning. These fourth-quarter rallies scare me; I have to pray my way through all the nail-biters.

Score Prediction: 24 Lions, 21 Packers

The Breakdown:

Last year when these teams faced off, one player stomped on an opponent at the end of a play. Needless to say, they don't like each other. While the Packers are always the favorite, the Lions seem to approach these games with a little extra motivation. And with the Pack showing more vulnerabilities this season and Lions QB Matt Stafford coming off a solid performance against the Vikings, perhaps the Lions will finally get the best of their old foe. But probably not.

Chicks in the Huddle's Prediction: Packers 31,  Lions 23
