U.S. soccer star Hope Solo reportedly married former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens hours after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting her.
According to the police report, officers broke up a fight at a party early Monday and found Solo with blood on her elbow and Stevens with blood on his shirt. It’s not clear if Solo was involved in the incident, but police say there were signs of a fight in the house.
The report also said Stevens and Solo had an earlier argument about where they would live after they got married.
In the affidavit for probable cause for arrest, police said Stevens was arrested, based on his admission that he argued with Solo, the injury to her elbow, signs of a fight in the bedroom where Stevens was found and blood on Stevens' shirt.
On Tuesday, a judge found no probable cause to keep Stevens in custody and later released him. HLN affiliate KING-TV reports Solo was in the courtroom Tuesday afternoon, but left without speaking to reporters.
According to Dave Mahler from Seattle's KJR radio, the pair got married Tuesday night after Stevens' court appearance.
Stevens has had prior run-ins with the law, which includes charges of reckless driving and driving under the influence. He was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in 2000, but he was never charged.
Stevens played for the Seattle Seahawks for five years before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for four years. As a member of the Buccaneers, he was arrested the night before a game for possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The team cut Stevens two days later.
Solo won two Olympic gold medals as a goalkeeper for the U.S. women’s national soccer team. She also appeared as a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars.”
