Like a cheesy rom-com come to life -- minus the true love and uber-happy ending -- comedian Janeane Garofalo recently discovered she was married...for 20 years.
Originally reported in the New York Post, Garofalo confessed to the accidental marriage at Saturday's New York Comedy Festival reunion for "The Ben Stiller Show."
So who was the lucky gentleman?
The actress tied the knot with former boyfriend Rob Cohen. Cohen was a writer on Stiller's show and then went on to produce "The Big Bang Theory."
And, yes, said marriage did involve alcohol and a trip to Sin City.
"We got married drunk in Vegas," Garofalo said at the festival. "We dated for a year, and we got married at a drive-through chapel in a cab. [We thought] you have to go down to the courthouse and sign papers and stuff, so who knew?"
The marriage went undiscovered for two decades, until Cohen decided to get hitched for what he thought was the first time. His lawyer stumbled onto the marriage record.
“Rob and I got married, for real, which we had to have a notary dissolve not 30 minutes before we got here tonight,” Garofalo said Saturday.
Oopsie!
Garofalo did add that she no longer drinks.
According to the Post, Cohen is set to marry Jill Leiderman, a producer on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
