The Lakers fired head coach Mike Brown after one of their worst starts in team history and many really wanted them to bring back legendary head coach Phil Jackson.
But instead, the team announced early this morning that they have hired former Knicks and Suns head coach Mike D'Antoni.
Several NBA experts said Phil Jackson was far and away the frontrunner to return to lead the Lakers for a third time, but team officials say D'Antoni was their unanimous choice as "the best coach for the team at this time."
