Cruise getting ready for a new 'Mission'?

  • Cruise talks about adding another installment to the ‘Mission Impossible’ franchise
  • Cruise: ‘I’ll make as many as people want to see’
Is Tom Cruise getting ready for Mission Impossible 5?

Tom Cruise is getting ready to take on another “Mission.”

The 50-year-old star of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise says he is ready to get back into character as Ethan Hunt. “I started ‘Mission: Impossible’ hoping I could make many of them. It’s a character that I can grow with,” Cruise tells Total Film magazine.

Why not make more? The latest installment, “Ghost Protocol,” brought in more than $694 million globally. As for the newest chapter in the wildly popular franchise, Cruise says they are still in the planning phase.

“We’re already working on different images. Talking conceptually," he said. "I love traveling around promoting different movies because I’m always looking at different places, and I always walk around to see the city. I look at architecture, subways … coming up with different sequences.”

Cruise’s next big-screen appearance will be in December in “Jack Reacher.”
