The shock (and fear) of finding out a new "Star Wars" film was in the works was eclipsed only by the other piece of news which accompanied that stunner: that it will be made by Disney, which had acquired LucasFilm.

In a $4 billion megadeal, George Lucas relinquished his lightsaber -- and handed it off to Mickey Mouse. "It’s now time for me to pass 'Star Wars' on to a new generation of filmmakers," Lucas said.

The new "Star Wars" is scheduled for release in 2015 and Disney isn't stopping there: they are planning "more feature films... to continue the 'Star Wars' saga." We're already looking forward to Episode 12, where Beauty and the Beast adopt all of the Ewoks.

The possibilities are endless -- as evidenced by the explosion of tweets about Tuesday's announcement.
