George Zimmerman’s attorneys will argue against a gag order Friday, because the order could hurt their ability to raise funds for their client’s legal defense.

The prosecution requested a gag order, but In Session legal experts say Zimmerman’s defense attorneys are opposed to that, because they have used the media attention to their benefit by asking the public for donations.

Zimmerman and his attorneys have raised hundreds of thousands dollars by solicitation donations online.

Prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda justified his request for a gag order during Zimmerman’s hearing last week, saying it will be difficult to put on a fair trial if the defense releases everything to the media. "We shouldn't have to have a press conference every time there is a request for a document," said Rionda.

On Friday, attorneys will also spar over two other issues: a defense request to keep witnesses from talking before they give their depositions and whether the prosecution will have to turn over more evidence gathered by the FBI during its investigation.
