Rep tells People mag.: ‘It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved’

Joe and Tina Simpson, the parents of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, are getting a divorce.

After more than three decades of marriage and helping to launch the careers of their daughters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Joe and Tina Simpson are calling it quits.

"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved," a rep for the family tells People magazine. "Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."

According to divorce papers obtained by TMZ, Tina filed for divorce last month in Texas. The documents state, "The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."

It has been a rough few months for Joe, who was arrested on suspicion of a DUI at the beginning of August. Last month Joe pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges.
