For the first time since her voluntary stint in a rehab facility, LeAnn Rimes is speaking out.

In an exclusive interview with Katie Couric, Rimes says, “I feel like I am starting over even though I’ve had all these years behind me. How many people get to [start] over again in this day and age?”

The interview will air Thursday on Couric’s daytime show, “Katie,” and on a special edition of “20/20,” “All Access Nashville.” Couric asks Rimes to clarify why she sought treatment. 

“You just completed a 30-day voluntary program that sparked a lot of rumors that you had an eating disorder, that you had an addiction problem. Why did you seek treatment?” asks Couric.

Rimes held back tears while explaining, “People look at you and go, 'Why are you struggling'? … No one can quite understand why you hurt so badly.”
