Now, that's not very Forrest Gump-like, Mr. Hanks!
One of America's most beloved Hollywood stars, Tom Hanks, accidentally uttered the f-word during an appearance on "Good Morning America" Friday.
Elizabeth Vargas, who was interviewing the "Cloud Atlas" star, asked Hanks to speak as one of his many characters in the film. The star obliged, but about eight words into his monologue, he dropped the f-bomb, causing both himself and Vargas to gasp in surprise.
Hanks immediately apologized on air, saying he "slipped into a brand of acting" and jokingly chastised the GMA crew for giving him a microphone. "I blame the staff!" Hanks teased, as the crew laughed off-camera.
For good measure, the amiable star also took to Twitter to apologize, tweeting, "For GMA, spesh kowtow for Lizzie V for WHAT DID I JUST SAY??? Oops! In character! Sorry! Hanx."
