Troopers from the Michigan State Police arrested a man dressed in a Batman costume for resisting and obstructing police during an investigation.
Mark Wayne Williams, 33, also known as "The Petoskey Batman," allegedly showed up at the site of an auto accident after monitoring a police scanner, according a court affidavit, obtained by The Smoking Gun.
“Williams took it upon himself to search the area in his Batman persona,” Michigan State Police wrote in a statement. “Williams advised her heard about the search and knew the subject troopers were looking for and thought he could find the man before police.”
Williams was booked into the Emmet County Jail. Police said his homemade Batman outfit and hear were seized. His arraignment date is scheduled for October 18.
According to Fox News, Williams was sentenced to six months probation last October after he pleaded guilty to attempted resisting/obstructing an officer.
