Parents looking for kid-friendly movies and TV shows online have a new option.
Toys 'R' Us has launched toysrusmovies.com, a new service where users can stream and download content aimed at kids. There are more than 4,000 titles available.
The toy retailer is looking to set its video service apart by not requiring subscriptions, as Netflix and Amazon do. Users of toysrusmovies.com can pay as they go. Movies are $2.99 for a 24-hour rental and TV shows cost $1.99. Movies will be available the same day the DVDs go on sale at stores, and users will be able to get TV shows the day after they air. The movie database is searchable by the age of your child, from "toddler" to "young adult."
The company plans to expand the service to Blu-ray players and mobile devices.
