Country crooner Jason Aldean is explaining exactly "Why" he was spotted kissing a woman who was not his wife.

TMZ first reported that Aldean was pictured in a Los Angeles bar getting cozy with former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr. Aldean, who has been married to his high school sweetheart since 2001, explained what happened that night Sunday on his Facebook page.

“I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites,” wrote Aldean. “The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story.”

Aldean then went on to address his family and fans. “I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself,” said Aldean. “I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”

Mega-hits like "Flyover States," "My Kinda Party" and "Dirt Road Anthem" have made Aldean one of the biggest acts in country music right now. He's currently headlining a tour with fellow country star Luke Bryan.

Aldean’s Facebook post has nearly 30,000 comments, and many are supporting Aldean for coming forward and addressing the controversy.
