Thanks B!

So there I was thumbing through my emails and deleting as I went along until I stumbled upon an email from "Beyonce Knowles." First thought: Spam. Second thought: I'd imagine her email address would be something like NoSingleLady1345@aol.com. Third thought: I'm being played.

It turns out -- and I should have known better -- that it was an email from the Obama campaign asking for money. The campaign is known for sending out fundraising emails using a big name in the "from" field. Think Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Michelle Obama...

"I usually don't email you - but I have an amazing invitation I have to share," the email reads. "Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!"

That sometime soon is September 18 when the A-list couple host a fundraiser at Jay-Z's "40/40" club.

Here's a snapshot of the email:

He's back!

Despite rumors of him leaving the show, the New York Times reports that "SNL" castmember Jason Sudeikis WILL be coming back for another season. Pheww! I mean, who else was going to play Mitt Romney?!

“Right now the idea is that Jason will go through at least until January,” SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels told the Times. “He’s a fiercely loyal guy, both to the show and to me."

About Egypt ...

In an interview with Telemundo regarding the attacks in Egypt and Libya, President Obama said that he doesn't consider Egypt an ally -- "but we don't consider them an enemy."

The current government there was democratically elected after President Hosni Mubarak's regime fell -- and subsequent elections were held.

Ouch

Steve Schmidt, John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign manager, responded to Romney's criticism of Obama's handling of the Egypt and Libya attacks:

"Look, I think it was a big mistake. I think it was a very serious mistake. And it was because we’re at the point of the campaign now where these impressions start to harden into concrete. People are evaluating now on a daily basis who has what it takes to be the next president in a challenging time. Who has the right temperament? Who has the right character? And he fell short on that with that statement.”

DVR alert

Mitt and Ann Romney will appear on "Live with Kelly and Michael" on September 18, show producers confirm.

In book news

The New York Post reports that Monica Lewinsky is "shopping a top-secret book project ... [and] making the rounds with major publishers, who were all asked to sign nondisclosure agreements to take the meetings."

Should Bill Clinton, who's riding on a convention high, be worried?

Mazel!

America's favorite baby-daddy, Levi Johnston, and his girlfriend Sunny Oglesby welcomed a baby girl into the world, TMZ reports. The name? Breeze Beretta Johnston.
