A lot of Apple fanatics are going crazy today wondering if the company really plans to charge $800 for the new iPhone 5.

Some rumors have been circulating on Twitter and causing quite a stir around even the possibility of such a big price jump. Two topics related to the rumor -- #800dollarsforaniPhone” and “iPhone 5 $800″ -- have been trending today, but it isn't clear why. 

According to IBTimes, gamenguide.com features a screenshot of a listing from the Chinese auction site taobao.com showing a photo of what is said to be the iPhone 5 for the equivalent of $800 to $1,050. The current top-of-the-line iPhone 4S sells for about half that, so the likelihood that the price will make that big of a jump is, well, small.
