Singer will have role in Robert Rodriguez's 'Machete Kills'
Pop star will play the role of 'La Chameleon'

Lady Gaga is hitting the big screen, monsters!

The "Born This Way" singer confirmed via Twitter that she will be making her acting debut in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming sequel, “Machete Kills.” Rodriguez tweeted the praises of the pop star's acting skills writing, "I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH A**! Holy Smokes. Blown away!”

The pop star, best known for her elaborate music videos and outfits, will be playing the character of “La Chameleon,” which can be seen in a poster that Rodriguez also tweeted.

Lady Gaga retweeted the message, and added: “Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”

The film is a sequel to the 2010 film, "Machete," which starred Jessica Alba and Danny Trejo.
