What are the odds?
Well, you have a 1 in 10,000 chance of being struck by lightning once in your lifetime. Multiple that out, and you're looking at a 1 in 1,000,000,000,000 chance of being hit three times (that would be one in one trillion in case you stopped counting the zeroes!).
The North Carolina man says the latest strike happened on Monday night, and it sent him to the hospital.
"There was a tremendous purple flash and it felt like somebody hit me in the chest with a hammer," Bob Edwards told our affiliate WSOC.
He blacked out and then crawled to a restaurant where a little girl spotted him and ran to her father for help.
Edwards says he was struck by lightning along the same road back in 1997 (maybe he should avoid driving there on stormy nights?) and was also struck in South Carolina in 2009.
While he may be super lucky to be alive, he says he suffers from PTSD and has lost jobs, family and friends as a result.
