Philip Seymour Hoffman joins 'Hunger Games'!

A new face will be running “The Hunger Games” the second time around!

Lionsgate officially announced today that Philip Seymour Hoffman has been cast in the film sequel “Catching Fire” as Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. The character of Plutarch follows original Gamemaker Seneca Crane’s role (played by actor Wes Bentley) after he fell victim to some purposefully placed poisonous berries at the end of the first film.

As the “Catching Fire” castings continue to roll in, fans still anxiously await the announcement of one of the most important roles in the sequel: Finnick Odair. Frontrunners for the role still appear to be "Tron" actor Garrett Hedlund and "John Carter" star Taylor Kitsch, although Kitsch has previously denied pursuing the role.

In other casting news, actress Jena Malone is strongly rumored to play Finnick’s ally and fellow tribute Johanna Mason.
