BuzzFeed's 4 best things from the Internet this week
Brad Pitt's sibling wants you to know he's pretty righteous
Texas A&M's human wall blocks potential funeral protesters
Each week our friends at BuzzFeed -- the savvy gatekeepers of the Internet's most viral content -- provide The Best of the Interwebs, a conveniently packaged roundup of the week's most awesome, ridiculous or awesomely ridiculous stuff.
This week, a kid from 1992 interviews his future/current self, Lady Gaga finds a new platform from which to rule her minions and Texas A&M students take a literal stand against intolerance.
Virgin Mobile's new ad in Australia features the "second most famous Pitt in his family," Doug Pitt. He looks remarkably like his famous brother Brad, but we love him more because of his dance moves, his "man room," love for his printer/copier and his awesome minivan.
Jeremiah McDonald must have been a pretty ingenious 12-year-old to think of making a video for his future self. Twenty years later, Jeremiah takes a look into the time capsule and gets to finally join the other side of the interview. It's a fascinating look at how different things are now versus 20 years ago and how much Jeremiah himself really hasn't changed. The found VHS tape reminded Jeremiah how much he used to love to draw, so he's set up this website to reconnect with his old hobby -- and is inviting readers to participate, too.
Photos of Texas A&M students and supporters creating a human wall around a soldier's funeral services have certainly gone viral this week. The A&M community heard that Westboro Baptist Church, the group which protests some soldiers' funerals with anti-gay messages, was planning to show up, so they organized a "Maroon Wall" which attracted support from all over the map. Apparently, the protesters never came.
Though her photos have mostly been self portraits so far, Lady Gaga's new Instagram account has little monsters all over rejoicing at a new way to interact with the A-lister. Instagram is on its way to 100 million users -- Facebook is at 900 million users, Twitter's at 500 million but Instagram recently took on 10 million users in 10 days following their acquisition by Facebook. Their growth is really significant and celebrities are flocking there.
