Video shows women how to cover bruises?!

The YouTube video is called “How to look your best the morning after” and has already been viewed over a hundred thousand times.

“I’m first going to start with some foundation,” says makeup artist Lauren Luke. “If you apply a color that is gently off-tone with your own skin tone, you can cover any fresh bruising.”

She’s talking about bruises from domestic violence.

“If you’ve got a lot of bruising from being pushed hard against a coffee table, you can gently apply layer after layer and you will cover it up slightly,” she goes on to explain. “I know it might hurt, just try your best… You might want to put concealer on over any splits that are caused from watches or rings.”

If you have some bruises around your neck, she says you can just pull your hair over them or wear a scarf. That’s when there’s a bang in the background and she quickly shuts down the video.

It’s shocking, it's disturbing and it grabs your attention right before you learn it’s actually a public service ad created by a domestic violence organization called “Refuge.”

The graphic at the end says, “65% of women who suffer domestic violence keep it hidden.” The video's message to these women: “Don’t cover it up.”
