Earlier this month, the term "zombie apocalypse" began flooding the digital space, prompted by a rash of bizarre national incidents involving gruesome cannibalism and flesh eating/throwing. The theme was so prevalent that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention felt compelled to
ease people's fears with an official statement.
"The CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms)," wrote agency spokesman David Daigle in an email to The Huffington Post.
Of course, that's what they want you to believe. Well, at least, that must have been the thought racing through some people's minds because "zombie bullets" are selling out fast.
Yes, zombie bullets. Ammo maker Hornady has cleverly
marketed a set of its bullets as "specifically designed to vaporize zombie varmints." Company owner Steve Hornady absolutely loves the horror genre and thought the gimmick might help sell product.
“After it gained some acceptance among [people], some of us here in the company got on board with the idea and we decided just to have some fun with a marketing plan that would allow us to create some ammunition designed for that … fictional world,”
company spokesman Everett Deger told CBS Detroit.
