Justin Bieber hit another career milestone on Saturday when he sold out his entire U.S. Believe tour in an hour. That is less time than it would take you to sit down and watch his “Never Say Never” documentary!
And if you were one of those people who wanted to see the Biebs at the famed Madison Square Garden, you had to be lightning-fast at ticket-buying. The tickets to his back-to-back shows sold out in 30 seconds.
Bieber now tops the list of fastest sold-out shows at the 20,000-seat venue. Here are some of the others:
- Online lore has it that Britney Spears was able to sell out three back-to-back shows at the Garden in 43 seconds during her 2009 “Circus” tour.
- Taylor Swift sold out her 2009 “Fearless” tour in one minute. That year she talked to Matt Lauer about the accomplishment saying, “It's crazy to think about 'cause they tell you things like never expect to play Madison Square Garden until you're like 10 years in.” Then in 2011 Swift broke her own record when her “Speak Now World” tour sold out in 59 seconds.
- British boy band sensation One Direction sold out their December 2012 tour date for Madison Square Garden in 10 minutes, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
- Fellow boy band the Jonas Brothers sold out three consecutive nights of their 2008 “Burnin’ Up” tour in 10 minutes. At the time the brothers were the youngest act to sell out the Garden.
