Forget the big cities: If you’re looking for the most self-conscious region of the country, then Fresno, California, is your town.
The west-coast municipality tops In Style magazine’s list of most beauty-obsessed cities. The magazine had FourSquare to compile data from its 15 million users to determine which places have the most people checking into beauty stores.
The free mobile app tallied more than 300,000 check-ins in Fresno -- however it may be getting a boost because it’s home to five beauty schools and a multitude of beauty retailers, according to In Style.
The college town of Lubbock, Texas, took second place and Tulsa, Oklahoma, was No. 3 on the list.
If you’re wondering where the big cities are, you’ll have to head to the fifth spot on the countdown before you hit a major metropolis. Las Vegas holds the No. 5 slot and New York City comes in eighth.
