Lamar Odom no longer does Dallas

Lamar Odom, Dallas hardly knew ya!

Odom, the basketball-star husband of reality star Khloe Kardashian, is reportedly parting ways with the Dallas Mavericks. The organization told HLN that Odom is inactive with the team and said it would not be releasing a statement.

The news means Odom officially remains on the Mavericks’ roster, but will not play for the team. It also leaves the option open for Odom to be traded after the season ends.

Odom said in a statement to ESPN.com that the decision was a joint one.

"The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it's in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team," Odom said. "I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs' organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship."

Odom struggled all season with the Mavericks after the Los Angeles Lakers traded him just before the season began. The departure, meanwhile, may put a kink in the couple's reality show, which planned to begin shooting in Dallas, according to TMZ.
