Hi. How are you? This is Robin Meade from Morning Express with Robin Meade.
In addition to being your morning news anchor on HLN, didja know I’m also a singer-songwriter? I released my debut album of country-pop songs called "Brand New Day" last summer. And now I'm excited to bring you two new bonus songs we've recorded for the deluxe edition, which is available right now at all Walmart stores -- over in the candle section, not the CD section -- and on iTunes. How cool!
The first bonus track is an original I wrote with Victoria Shaw, who produced this album, and Matt Lopez (of the group "Due West"). I wanted a story-song, and one that reflected the type of court cases and crime stories I’d been talking about on the air at that time. The result is a song called "The Truth." It touches on the realization that one person's "truth" isn't necessarily another person's. I hope you enjoy the "Law and Order" style twist in it too.
The other bonus track is a cover of a Beatles tune. I know -- daunting, right? To do a Beatles song? Especially one as widely loved as "Here Comes the Sun." But I'm excited for you to hear this new "countrified" take on it. It feels like the perfect song for our viewers, to whom I say "Morning Sunshine" each day.
Both songs are available now on the deluxe edition of "Brand New Day" at all Walmart stores, and as singles -- if you want to buy them that way -- on iTunes. If you are an iTunes person, leave a review there if you like! It helps get the word out, and I love hearing what you have to say. You make my heart sing, after all. Ha!
You can sample all the songs (including the two new tracks) on iTunes, even if you aren't an iTunes or Mac user: Click here to listen.
