Remember the 1987 "Garbage Pail Kids" movie? You know, the one considered one of the worst films of all time?
The Tornante Company, headed by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, is funding the project. Eisner bought Topps, the company that made the trading cards, in 2007 and is now planning to scar a whole new generation of children with the grotesque group's antics.
Seriously, do you remember this?
Cinema gold. Who wouldn't want another crack at mastering fart scenes and snot explosions?
The film will reportedly be directed by PES, (government name: Adam Pesapane) a mysterious fellow whose recent viral video successes have names like "Fresh Guacamole" and "Roof Sex."
When you sit down and explain to your little darlings why someone is embarking on a remake of a film once called "too repulsive for children or adults of any age," go ahead and introduce them to the wonderful world of the original trading cards from the '80s, which in were intended to parody the wildly popular Cabbage Patch Kids. As you may recall, they have charming names like Gooey Huey and Adam Bomb.
After they stop crying, tell us: Were you a fan of the original? And is this remake gonna be good, or just disgusting?
