The Green Elephant toy store in Davners, Massachusetts, was just issued a liquor license.
The governor signed it and everything. Problem is, they never applied for one!
“It was very shocking to us,” Jennifer LaMontagne, the co-owner of Green Elephant, tells WHDH.
Turns out the license wasn’t actually meant for them. It was approved for a restaurant that someone planned to open at the same location: 13 Elm Street.
“Since that time, something has happened and he doesn’t exist at 13 Elm St. or never did exist at 13 Elm St.,” Rep. Ted Speliotis tells WHDH.
“Something happened” on "Elm Street" and he "doesn't exist" anymore?! Okay, did anyone else get a creepy flashback of Freddy Kreuger!?
Some potentially bad news for the toy store … they won’t be able to make any future plans involving booze and Barbies because the license cannot be transferred from the owner of "Natalie's Restaurant" to them.
We were kind of digging the concept -- maybe they should reapply?
