Family says Pokémon card led them to XXX site

When a family in Oregon tried scanning the QR (or "Quick Response") code on the back of a Pokémon card, they say they were directed to a pornographic website.

"When the site came up, I didn't know what to do. Suddenly, you can't hit the back button fast enough," Ben Lapp told HLN affiliate KPTV.

Lapp says his kids, ages 7 and 9, didn’t see anything, but he fears other families might not be so lucky.

We tried scanning the code and it seems to be working like it’s supposed to. According to the card, it gives you access to a deck of cards that you can use to play in the “Pokémon TCG Online Trainer Challenge” (we got what appears to be a code that you can redeem on the site).

We reached out to the Pokemon Corporation and Nintendo for comment and had not received a response as of Thursday afternoon.
