Attention passengers: It is now safe to move about the cabin ... AND get your groove on.
For just $425 you can book a private, padded, curtained aircraft in Cincinnati for an hour -- and it comes with champagne, chocolates, and one VERY DISCREET PILOT (yes, they put an emphasis on that!).
If you’re brave enough, you could come away a proud member of the Mile High Club (and no, we will not tell you what that means if you don’t know already).
"I have had a high heel in my ear once, been shot in the back of the head with a champagne cork, and thank God we wear headsets," Captain Dave MacDonald tells WCPO.
Man, what we wouldn’t give to hear some of his other stories. On second thought, maybe we don’t want to know.
MacDonald’s wife is the co-president of Flamingo Air and says they have booked as many as eight flights in a day! And believe it or not, she says about 90 percent of the flights are booked by women.
"We play up the romance. It is not the down and dirty let's have sex on an airplane. It is the romance of it, and that is why we get the champagne and chocolates," she tells WCPO.
The plane is pretty cramped, but that’s not stopping thrill-seekers. Maybe the cozier the better?
"People get creative," McDonald says.
Couples can request to pass over particular landmarks if they’d like (although we imagine they won’t be doing much sightseeing). How many people can say they “scored” over the Paul Brown Stadium or the Great American Ball Park?
Like we said, what happens at 10,000 feet, stays at 10,000 feet … but at least one couple has fessed up to getting busy in the backseat.
"They had a wonderful time,” says MacDonald’s wife. “That was in the summer if I remember. The next summer they brought a little guy by and said he was conceived in the airplane.”
Well, that’s at least one couple who will never forget their “flight of fancy!”
Okay, be honest … would you shell out $425 to shag your sweetheart in the sky?
