Antoine Dodson wants to sing you a lullaby

Antoine Dodson first warned us about a bed intruder climbing through our windows and trying to snatch our people up, but now he’s singing a different tune. The YouTube sensation is serenading us with a “Lovesick Lullaby,” and actually it’s not terrible. (That’s plus one for you Antoine.)

Dodson once again has channeled the inexplicable magic of auto-tune and this time he’s added the stylings of Alabama musician Brent Morgan, according to Time. This is the third version and most successful release of “Lovesick Lullaby,” which originally came out in 2010.

Surely Dodson is trying to extend his 15 minutes of viral fame, which helped move his family out of the projects. But in a musical landscape filled with annoying songs, this moody melody isn’t the worst thing we’ve heard. Morgan definitely has vocal talent and the musical composition is no worse than much of what is currently on the radio.

Could he be the new king of R&B? Will he give Usher, R. Kelly and Cee Lo some real competition? Hmmm … probably not, but remember, it could be worse.

Check out the song for yourself below and let us know what you think. Will you download this?
