Country singer Randy Travis is apologizing, saying his recent public intoxication arrest in Texas was the result of too much Super Bowl partying.
In a statement to HLN, Travis says, “I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl. I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions.”
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Travis was arrested shortly after midnight on Monday for public intoxication and was released almost eight hours later.
According to TMZ, the singer known for his hit song “Forever and Ever, Amen” was arrested when police found him drinking an open bottle of wine in front of a Baptist church.
