'Hair Force One?': Mitt's getting a code name

NEED TO KNOW
  • GOP hopeful Mitt Romney will be receiving Secret Service protection
  • Twitter thoughtfully assists in suggesting code names
  • Among our list of favories: 'Brigham Old,' 'By Mennen,' 'Mom Jeans'

"Let's go. We have Aqua Net and are prepared to leave. Repeating: Aqua Net is present and secure."

You can just hear it now, can't you? The U.S. Secret Service discussing its protection for its latest and most well-coiffed charge, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The Sunshine State's Choice is going to be receiving protection from federal agents after his big Florida win. And of course that means he'll now need a code name. Heroically, the Twitterverse has risen to the challenge with a long list of suggestions -- including 'Aqua Net.'

Romney's hair, along with his religion and wealth, were pretty common themes among users hopping on to the hashtag #RomneyCodeNames. Historically, the Secret Service code names haven't been nearly as colorful as what the Internet's been suggesting for Mitt, but they've still managed to be pretty descriptive.

Ronald Reagan went by "Rawhide." George H.W. Bush was "Timberwolf." Bill Clinton was "Eagle" and Barack Obama now goes by "Renegade." Bonus first lady code name: Nancy Reagan? "Rainbow."

But, back to The Man Who May Be the Nominee and some of our favorite suggestions from Twitter users:

Brigham Old

Hair Force One

Hair Apparent (sense a theme?)

Meh. Romney.

Mom Jeans

Mr. Burns

Stormin' Mormon

Bob Russell

I Guess He'll Have To Do

The Lost Osmond (sense another theme?)

Darth Helmet

Pink Slip

Flipper

"By Mennen"

Oh, Twitter. You always come through. No doubt Romney's men in black are combing this list right now for ideas.
