Paula the penguin displayed a very effective style of political rhetoric when she and her handler took to the Kentucky Senate floor on Tuesday.

Her escort, Senate President Pro Tem Katie Stine, was in the middle of resolving to honor the Newport Aquarium for their work in protecting sea life. Upon hearing this inspirational news, Paula pooped.

Luckily, WLWT reports, what could have been an embarrassing bathroom faux pas for Paula was taken with a little good humor.

"Are we talking about the penguin that just defecated...?" Senate President David Williams interjected, which was followed by several creative jokes about "business on the floor."

Perhaps Paula should become a legislator, because it looks like she's got a knack for passing motions.
