Man with mystery illness wants YouTube diagnosis

An Oregon man says he has been sick for almost a year and a half and has no idea why. Justen Chambers is only 24-years-old, yet he says a debilitating mystery condition has left him with no way to work, and no answers from baffled doctors.

Before Christmas, he posted a video on YouTube titled “An Open Letter To Doctors Everywhere (I’m Very Sick And I Need Help)” detailing his condition and describing, at length, the procedures he has undergone.

In the video, he says he almost died when he was hospitalized for four days. He says the abdominal pain, fatigue, frequent bowel movements and malaise he is feeling have been left unexplained. According to Chambers, doctors have ruled out parasites, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, AIDS and a laundry list of other afflictions.

“I’ve been sick 17 months,” he concludes in the video. “I’m looking for some answers. If there’s a doctor out there who truly cares about what they’re doing and I know there’s a lot of them that do… in my honest opinion … there’s quite a few that really have forgotten that physicians are supposed to help people instead of just prescribe medicine.”

According to KPTV, Chambers has received emails from people with similar stories and frustrations, but still does not have a firm answer about his condition.

“I’m 24,” he says simply. “I’m not supposed to be as sick as I am.”
