Hip-hop impresario Sean Combs has successfully tackled music, clothing, fragrances and reality television (remember “Making the Band?"). Now music’s most monikered man is ready to launch his own cable network, according to trade magazine Broadcasting & Cable.
Diddy, seemingly channeling Oprah Winfrey, aims to launch a music-themed cable network called "Revolt" on December 12, 2012. That’s 12.12.12, in case you missed it.
Broadcasting & Cable, which cites “source with knowledge of the Revolt playbook,” reports the station is a music and news channel with an urban twist. But in a television landscape already populated by urban-focused entertainment channels like BET, Centric and TV One, how will Sean John’s newest venture fare?
He may have "invented the remix," but as we've seen with Oprah’s struggling OWN network, being media mogul doesn’t automatically catapult you into success in the cable arena.
Will you watch Diddy's new network or do you plan to tune out?
