Heidi and Seal are over, and so is true love

NEED TO KNOW
  • Model Klum and singer Seal confirm split
  • They had been married for 6 years

You heard the chatter over the weekend, and now the news is confirmed: Heidi Klum and Seal are divorcing after almost seven years of marriage.

Aww! Someone break out the sad bourbon. Is it too early for the sad bourbon? We'll settle for sad apple cider instead.

For some reason, in the sea of ebbing and flowing celeb couples, people just thought Heidi and Seal were gonna make it, you know? But HLN obtained a statement early this morning confirming the split:

"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."

Well THAT is a huge bummer. Who is going to gift us with crazy Halloween costumes every year? Or look adorable on the red carpet? The news hasn't just darkened the day for us random admirers of the photogenic couple. In an Us Weekly interview, Klum's father Gunther Klum said the family was "very sad" over the news.

The couple met in 2003, were married in 2005, and are parents to four children (Seal adopted Heidi's child from a previous relationship). They were even known for renewing their vows every year. Fun fact: Seal proposed to Heidi atop a Canadian glacier in a specially-built igloo. An igloo! If an igloo proposal can't cement true love, then what can?
