In the February issue of GQ Michelle Williams, once again channels her Golden Globe winning alter ego Marilyn Monroe. While Michelle shows off her sultry side in a sexy photo spread, the actress admits her heart still aches over the loss of Heath Ledger.
Michelle and Heath met on the set of
"Brokeback Mountain" and quickly started a relationship. Not long after, they were expecting a
child together. "A lot of things happened at once," says Michelle. "It's a bit like: We had a lot of things to do, because we didn't have a lot of time, or something."
Although Michelle calls the start of her romance with Heath "cosmic," the two would
split in 2007. The following year, the unexpected would happen: Heather Ledger was found dead in his New York City apartment. After Heath's death, Michelle found herself having to mourn with the paparazzi following her every move.
"It was making me crazy," says Michelle. "I felt like I was going crazy. It was too much trying to deal with what happened and trying to deal with what was at our doorstep. I just felt trapped."
After Heath's death, Michelle didn't think she would act again, but that all changed with the film
"Blue Valentine." While she was reluctant at first to get back to work Michelle says it was commitment she had to fulfill. "I went back internally kicking and screaming, she explains. I'm now grateful."
