Did man poison his wife's Rice Krispies?

A California man is getting a taste of life behind bars after police say he tried to kill his wife by poisoning her Rice Krispies.

Fernando Porras, 47, is being held on $1 million dollars bail after his wife ate the tainted cereal and complained abut the awful smell and taste. The couple’s 17-year-old daughter realized there was something wrong and called 911. Luckily, the wife is expected to be fine.

Things got suspicious at the hospital, though, when Porras claimed he was going outside for a cigarette and never returned. He is expected to be charged with attempted murder.

Oh, and the name of the lethal chemical he’s accused of using? “Goof Off.” You can’t make this stuff up.
