Fantasy football granny's got game

NEED TO KNOW
  • 87-year-old Minnesota woman wins her Fantasy League
  • She's been participating in leagues for 25 years

With time comes wisdom, and with wisdom comes the opportunity to crush all those whippersnappers in your fantasy football league.

After 25 years of fantasy play, 87-year-old Pat Hanzlick finally won her league’s Super Bowl. Her secret is simple: Do your research!

"I like reading about players, I follow that,” she told HLN affiliate WCCO. “Years ago, I went with newspapers and magazines. Now it’s TV and the Internet.” Hanzlick admits learning the mysterious ways of internet play proved difficult, but that didn’t stop her from making game-winning picks like Calvin Johnson and Cam Newton.

She even went head to head with her own son in the championship game, and clobbered him 70-43. “She did her homework,” said her son Kevin Hanzlick. “She’ll be modest, but she knows what she’s doing.”

No joke. Pat is already looking forward to next season, and of course, a little March Madness. To which we say: Sit down, Sonny. Granny’s got this.
