Jay-Z gives 'Glory' to baby Blue

NEED TO KNOW
  • Hip hop's power couple releases its greatest hit: A daughter
  • Beyonce gave birth to the couple's first child over the weekend
  • Jay-Z celebrates his daughter's birth with a new song called 'Glory'

The year’s first celebrity baby already has her own song. Blue Ivy Carter can thank her daddy Jay-Z for releasing “Glory” on his “Life + Times” blog, according to Vibe.

"Hova"’s lyrical dedication to his newborn daughter with Beyonce Knowles may have crashed his site -- we had trouble loading it in the hours after the song’s debut.

"The most amazing feeling,” the hip hop star says, “My greatest creation was you.”

Blue Ivy may have even made a cameo, as the song features a baby cooing throughout its back end. This isn't the first song the Carters have released to celebrate their baby. She also gets a shout out in Beyonce's "Countdown."

Jay-Z's tune plays like a love letter to Blue and weaves its way through the rap mogul’s familial background. It touches on the death of his father and even discusses a previous miscarriage.

"Last time the miscarriage was so tragic," the he sings. "We was afraid you’d disappear but nah baby you magic."

Did Jay-Z -- AKA Shawn Carter -- just give the world insight into his notoriously private life with Sasha Fierce?

In the wake of the song's release, #Glory became a Twitter trend.

Take a listen for yourself here and let us know what you think about Jay-Z’s lullaby for his daughter.
