Walmart not fooled by bogus $1 million bill

A man in North Carolina is accused of handing a Walmart cashier a $1 million dollar bill to settle up at the checkout stand. You're right, there is no such thing.

Did he think the store could actually make change for that? He was only buying $476 bucks worth of stuff. Maybe that's how workers managed to keep Michael Fuller there until cops came and arrested him. Maybe it went something like this: "And that's 476 out of 1 million? OK sir, it's going to be a second while we call the armored car to bring you your change. Wait right here."

When the police DID arrive, Fuller was arrested. He's been charged with two felonies for trying to use the bogus bill to buy a vacuum cleaner, a microwave and some other things.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, Fuller was a "self-made" fake millionaire. He apparently created the bill himself and told the cashier that it was real. But the Walmart clerk in Lexington, North Carolina, where this odd transaction failed to take place raised the alert. Now Fuller gets to start the new year with a scheduled court appearance Tuesday, January 3.

For the record, the biggest bit of American paper currency is the $100 bill. There have been larger denominations in the past, however all but the good ole "C-note" have been discontinued.

If only Fuller had been around for Dr. Evil's infamous ransom demand.
