It’s official--Mel Gibson is now legally single.
HLN confirms that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge signed off on the decree Friday, finalizing the split between the actor and his wife of nearly 30 years, Robyn.
The divorce is supposedly one of the priciest in Hollywood. People Magazine reports that the actor's net worth was once close to $850 million. The magazine reports the couple reached a financial settlement after more than a year of negotiations.
Mel's 55-year-old ex-wife and mother of the couple's seven children got a lump sum settlement just two days before Christmas (happy holidays?)... Just how much does she get? According to People, she’s already the legal owner of two multi-million dollar mansions in Malibu. Reports say that because there was no pre-nup, she’s entitled to half of what Mel earned over the course of their 30-year marriage, including residual payments down the road.
Robyn filed for divorce in 2009, according to TMZ. She had reportedly been separated from Mel for three years prior to serving him with divorce papers, after learning that Mel’s girlfriend at the time, Oksana Grigorieva, was pregnant.
