Jodie Foster's 89-year-old father is now facing up to 25 years in prison.
If you're wondering how an 89-year-old could get himself in so much trouble, here's what happened: Lucius Foster was convicted Wednesday of 21 counts of grand theft and nine counts of contracting without a license, according to People magazine.
Foster, who is a building contractor in Sherman Oaks, California, was found guilty of scamming a dozen of investors out of $130,000. He was promising to build modular homes made out of 40-foot Chinese shipping containers, but never delivered on his word. Deputy City Attorney Don Cocek calls Foster the "Bernie Madoff of Sherman Oaks."
Lucius Foster told Inside Edition the reason the houses were never built was due to a rough economy. Leaving the courthouse, he said he never used his famous daughter's name to lure investors.
Jodie Foster was born after her parent's divorce. Lucius Foster had little involvement in her life.
