'DWTS' Week 10: Victory is so close!

NEED TO KNOW
  • The last three couples take to the dance floor in season finale
  • Each couple to perform four dances tonight
  • Looking back: Rob, Ricki, and J.R.'s Season 13 dance history

I know you can hardly contain yourself as you wait for the clock to strike 8 p.m. tonight. A whopping ten weeks later, the "Dancing with the Stars" finale is finally here!

Who will take home the coveted Mirrorball trophy? More importantly, where will the winners display the newly acquired prized possession? Let’s do what we do best and speculate, shall we?

If you’ve been reading this blog from the beginning (and I know you have), you already know that your DWTS finalists are Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke, Ricki Lake & Derek Hough, and J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff. Tonight, the couples are slated to perform four dances. Yes, four dances -- all in the same night. Naturally, this might prove quite challenging for the contestants and leave a lot of room for tumbles, missed counts, and general embarrassment. Everyone called last week the “most impossible week ever” -- and they only had to dance three numbers -- so you can only imagine what they must be thinking about tonight.

Perhaps motivated by tonight’s level of difficulty, the stars and their pro dance partners have been preparing for their final time in the ballroom. And what better way to predict this season’s winner than to look back at the contestants’ 10-week-long dance history.

You know we loved J.R. from the get-go, but tonight he might be especially worried about his footwork, what with his bum ankle and all. We kind of knew he had the whole thing in the bag by Week 5, especially after that totally rad samba, but then he had to go and hurt himself. You could really tell he was struggling with the movements during last week’s performance and, sadly, didn’t place “at the top of the leaderboard” (as the judges would say, in a concerned tone of voice). I certainly hope his confidence (and his ankle) didn’t struggle too much from those moves and that he can wow the judges one last time tonight.

Someone who has absolutely no self-esteem issues is Ricki. Dare we say she has too much confidence in herself? Sure, she got the perfect score for her first dance last week, and she looked graceful in the Week 8 waltz, but I hope all this success doesn’t go to her head tonight. Stay focused, Ricki! Channel your inner Little Red Riding Hood paso doble self!

And then there’s dark horse Rob, who came out of nowhere and into the final. In the last two weeks, he’s emerged as a real contender, winning the cha-cha race last week. Even if he doesn’t take home the Mirrorball trophy, he should definitely win the 'Most Improved' award for this season. Not to mention, he’s our favorite Kardashian now.

So, what are you looking forward to the most? Who do you think has the best chance of winning this round of DWTS?
