J.K. Rowling who? Snooki is stumped

Wanna be an author? Take a seat and let Professor Snooki show you how it’s done. The "Jersey Shore" princess has penned two books in the last year, with another due out early next year.

That makes her much more prolific than, say, J.K. Rowling -- whoever that is! When Snooki dropped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Tuesday night, Kimmel compared her to the billionaire mother of the Harry Potter franchise. "I don't know who that is," said Snooki. Had she at least heard of Harry Potter? “Oh!” she said. “Those movies are cool.”

Ok, so maybe young adult fantasy isn’t her preferred genre. Perhaps Maya Angelou is more her taste? “I don’t know who that is,” Snooki replied, after Kimmel said her books rivaled the works of the renowned poet and author for their use of the word “friggin’.”

Snooki’s novel, “A Shore Thing,” was published in January, and a sequel, “Gorilla Beach,” is in the works. Her “Confessions of a Guidette” was released this week.

She may be a writer, but she certainly doesn’t type -- she flashed a full set of bright painted talons to Kimmel and explained her process. “You know, I just talk it out on a recorder, and that’s that,” she said.

Which makes sense. As Thomas Edison once said, "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent tape recording." Or something.
