Stars tweet about Dan Wheldon's death

Celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment are tweeting their thoughts about the death of IndyCar racer Dan Wheldon, who was killed in a massive crash during the Las Vegas Indy 300 Sunday.

“My heart goes out to race car driver, Dan Wheldon's family, his wife & 2 babies. Such a tragedy,” Kim Kardashian wrote.

“My thoughts and prayers are with @danwheldon and his loved ones.. What a sad day,” Denise Richards tweeted.

NBA superstar LeBron James wrote: “R.I.P to IndyCar Driver Dan Wheldon! Dies In 15-Car Crash At Las Vegas Race #tragedy. You'll be missed from Sports.” He added, “Prayers goes out to his whole family! I don't know him personally but he was well respected in his sport. We are all one GIANT family.”

Former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Erin Andrews, an ESPN reporter, tweeted, “Very sorry to hear the news of Dan Wheldon..puts alot into perspective today..my heart hurts for his family.”

Wheldon’s fellow IndyCar racer Danica Patrick shared these emotional words on her Twitter account: “There are no words for today. Myself and so many others are devastated. I pray for suzi and the kids that god will give them strength.”

Finally, NASCAR star Kyle Busch wrote, “The loss of Dan Wheldon affects the whole racing community. May all our thoughts and prayers b w his family. He will b missed!”
